Originally founded in 1996, the multidisciplinary Stockholm-based label Acne Studios started off as a creative collective called ACNE. The collective focused on film, graphic design, and advertising. Co-founder Jonny Johansson eventually started creating raw denim jeans for his friends and family, which quickly became a great hit. This translated into Johansson venturing off into more apparel. With that, Acne Studios became its own stand-alone entity in 2006 and has continued to make waves within the fashion industry.
